This image would make a great game at parties! It’s one of the classic “Spot what’s wrong here” moments that would give most people pause. Clearly, this door was designed for magicians who know the art of levitating because there’s no other way to get to that door. Forgetting stairs is a truly hilarious construction fail and leaves us wondering what these construction workers were thinking!

The Honor System?

Normally, a set of employee-only doors are designed to keep people who aren’t employed by the company out. If that’s what this business was going for with this set of doors, then it seems they missed a crucial design flaw. Anyone can simply step around these doors and get into the restricted area. Perhaps the company is relying on the honor system to keep out non-employees?

These Drawers Are Purely Decorative

Most people want to use every drawer in their home. Storage space can be pretty tight in modern homes, especially in the kitchen, so every spare inch of space is valuable! For whatever reason, the people who designed this kitchen made a terrible mistake! An entire column of drawers is unusable due to being half-covered by the wall. Talk about a wasted opportunity!

Don’t Look Down!

If you’re afraid of heights, then you don’t want to go down this hole! Whoever designed the placement of the bars must be an experienced parkour expert because there’s no other way to make your way up and down. We guess it’s a good way to prevent people from accessing this area, but it’s a huge hazard for anyone who needs to work here!

Sitting Room Only Accessible By Flight

There’s no telling what the construction workers were thinking when they built this sitting area above the lobby of a hotel. We can’t deny how adorable it is, but it’s completely unusable. Maybe they just wanted a nice space to show off that the guests couldn’t mess up. Or, maybe they’re saving it for people with access to jet-packs! Either way, this sitting room looks like it’s going to remain empty for a pretty long time.

Why Would You Do This?

Churches are beautiful places. They often have gorgeous statues, stain-glass windows, and other pieces of art lining their buildings. Why would anyone ruin the beauty of this wall by making all those wires stick out? This would be very distracting for churchgoers during service or for attendees at a wedding. Someone needs to hire a new contractor or electrician who can cover up those wires without ruining the aesthetic of this church any further. What a tragedy!

You Picked The Wrong Seats!

We sincerely hope the people unlucky enough to get those seats didn’t have to pay an arm and a leg for them! Can you imagine the excitement you’d when buying your tickets, and then the immense disappointment when you see these seats! You won’t be seeing anything sitting in this spot, and it’s a terrible shame. Someone didn’t think this through!

Explain How This Works

This handicapped parking space is completely surrounded by a barrier that makes it impossible for most handicapped individuals to get in there! Aside from that, most vehicles aren’t designed to drive over curbs like this. We demand an explanation! How is this supposed to work? Someone needs to fix this monstrosity immediately!

Is This A Fail?

We’re not sure whether to classify this as a fail or a really awesome and unique design! Twisting columns overhead probably wouldn’t feel very safe, but there’s a certain appeal to it. This design is fascinating, but the bottom line is that there’s no way this is up to building codes. Whoever did this should recreate it on a smaller scale so it can live on in a museum, and then tear this down and rebuild it properly!

Don’t Use This Slide If You’re Afraid Of Heights

Did the construction workers build this slide for children who can fly? Because that’s the only way they’d be able to use this slide safely! We hope someone caught this massive oversight before any children used this slide. It’s also possible the playscape structure was shifted during an earthquake or some other extreme weather event. Someone needs to call a different construction worker to fix this issue.

Warning! You’ll Definitely Stub A Toe Here

What was the purpose of this extra piece of concrete? Did the construction workers put it in at the property owner’s request? Perhaps it’s an attempt to keep people from entering or leaving comfortably. Unless you have your eyes glued to the ground, you’re almost guaranteed to stub your toe or trip when using this door. Perhaps it’s a test of strength. Only those strong enough to endure the awful pain of stubbing their toe may enter.

Through The Window?

This is madness! Who thought it would be a good idea to install these pipes straight through the windows? It was an awful idea for a million reasons, and we can’t believe this picture actually exists. That pipe must have been for something pretty darn important if the workers felt the need to stab it through the windows like that!

This Fail Is Actually Genuis

Who knew construction workers would be so good at improvisation? This fail is actually genius because when this construction worker didn’t have access to a “slow” sign, he did the next best thing. He chose to hold up a tortoise, which is known for being one of the slowest animals on the planet. It was an excellent idea, but it left us with so many questions. Where did this man get that tortoise? He’s in the middle of a busy city street with construction happening! Maybe the tortoise is his pet and gets brought along on every job. What do you think?

The Classic Landlord Fail

Landlords are always trying to cut costs by taking on work around the apartment themselves, but this person has clearly gone too far! Not only did he mess up by not priming that wall before painting it, but he also painted write over this poor tenant’s thermostat! Tell your landlord he’s not a painter, and you need this issue fixed- stat!

The Drain’s Not Draining!

Well, the intention here was good because this area obviously needs a drain, but the execution was awful. Instead of picking the lowest point, this drain was placed on the highest point of this area, which prevents it from draining anything! This drain is as useless as it is disappointing. Unless this is a secret entrance for some spunky turtles who like to fight crime!

Worst Balcony Ever!

These balconies are officially the worst ones ever constructed. Unless you’re prepared to hang off the side of the building on one, these balconies offer no real purpose. They’re just urban art pieces at this point, and they don’t help the aesthetics of that building at all! Someone either forgot to add the floors to these balconies or they got away with a hilarious prank!

What Happened Here?

This image shows a recently renovated middle school with a glaring problem. The tile on the wall would suggest this picture was taken in a bathroom, but regardless of what room this is, there was a major oversight. The door is no longer useable and is half covered by the ceiling! Knowing middle schoolers, this door will become the source of many rumors and whispers over shared contraband like energy drinks and candy.

Whoever designed and created this monstrosity of a staircase clearly doesn’t understand how this type of structure should work! There is no way this staircase could safely hold someone as they wander up or down, and it’s honestly terrifying to look at! Put this piece of abstract construction in a museum where it belongs and leave the construction work to the real professionals.

The magic of escalators is that the stairs move! How disappointing would it be to come across a staircase posing as an escalator? Whether this was a practical joke or a miscommunication between the project manager and construction workers, it’s clear that this was a hilarious construction fail! When the plumber came across this clock in the way of the pipe he needed to install, he decided to come up with a creative solution. Rather than removing the clock from the wall and putting it back up in another spot, he decided to bend the pipe around the clock to allow the clock to be the center of attention. Never mess with clocks when you’re working, it’s bad luck!

This ramp and staircase combo looks very out of place here. We can’t tell what the point of this construction project was, but we’re guessing the project was never completed. The longer you stare at this image and think about what its purpose could have been, the more confusing it becomes! This bike lane is a hazard to cyclists. The big pole in the middle of the lane is a neutral color, which allows it to blend in with the background. That pole is hard to make out in broad daylight, so it must be a disaster at night. We feel bad for any travelers who need to take this lane and hope they have a flashlight on the front of their bike so they can see this hazard before it knocks them off their bike!

Someone wasn’t paying attention when they put this door handle in place. What good is a door handle if you can’t use it to close the door? If you’ve spent much time on Reddit, then you know this picture would find a home on the subreddit Mildly Infuriating. What is it about this image that makes us cringe so badly? It’s such a simple mistake, but so irritating! Whoever put this door handle on backward has a lot to answer for, but they’d better fix this door handle quickly.

Only Small Vehicles May Pass

This is discrimination against large vehicles! Small cars and trucks can enjoy this drive-thru with ease, but you’d better check your clearance if you’re in a larger vehicle. People who enhanced their vehicle with a lift kit might regret that decision the next time they want a double-double cheeseburger from this drive-thru! Maybe they’ll still let you order if you go inside, but their drive-thru is definitely anti-large vehicles.

How Did They Not Notice?

How did the people in charge of this project not notice they were trapping the toilet lid in the upright position? Not only does this deserve a trophy in the Mildly Infuriating subreddit’s hall of fame, but it needs to be fixed as soon as possible! You’re supposed to close that lid when you flush, and not being able to do so makes us feel extra uncomfortable.

This would be a wonderful window to look out of because you’d be able to see the whole neighborhood! Poor Cyclists

Poor cyclists have enough to worry about. They have to watch out for cars, pedestrians, and other hazards on the road or sidewalk where they’re biking. Now, cyclists in this city have to worry about their path sending them directly into a guardrail! Bikers in this town better have a quick reaction speed and strong legs, because the only way they’re getting though here is by bunny hopping over the guardrail!

Apparently, the number 1 rule in construction is to do your best and foam the rest! That appears to be what happened in this picture, where the construction worker obviously cut too big of a hole before installing this pipe. He probably needed to think fast for a solution and grabbed his spray foam to finish the job. We guess it works? But it definitely doesn’t look the best!

It could be how these stairs lead to a giant, immovable column or how this girl is standing toe-to-toe with it like she’s going to fight it for her freedom! Reaching this payphone would be a major struggle for most people, which is why we believe the construction workers behind this project clearly had an ulterior motive. Only Superman can use this payphone, since he can actually fly and get off the ground. Everyone else needs to bring a ladder with them to access this payphone, or just pull out their cell phone! Does anyone even use payphones in 2023?

Upside Down Door

The people in charge of this project clearly weren’t paying enough attention when they installed this door. It’s one thing to install a door a little off-center or something, but to put the thing in upside down is crazy! The person who lives on this street must be furious! We wonder if they’re getting mail for number 25, or if the mail people know the door is upside down and are delivering mail for 52 at this address.

Why Is It Always Bathrooms?

What is it about bathroom construction that creates problems like this? Anyone using this toilet would feel uncomfortable, and trying to get into the cabinets behind the toilet certainly wouldn’t be a walk in the park, either! These stairs look like they collapsed in on themselves, but they were actually built this way! The sidewalk itself is uneven, so the stairs were designed uneven as well. At least the people responsible for this project were kind enough to place a caution sign to warn pedestrians about the uneven surfaces. You’d better hold onto that handrail to avoid tripping up these stairs.

The Loneliest Bench In The World

This poor bench looks like the loneliness bench in the world. It’s completely trapped behind that fence, which means no one will ever be able to sit on it! The whole purpose of a bench is to take a load off and sit down for a while, but this bench can’t help you with that. We wonder if the bench has an existential crisis during the day as it watches people walk by, but never has someone sit on it.

Codependence In The Bathroom

While public bathrooms in America aren’t known for offering much privacy to the user, this is taking things too far! You must be seriously codependent to bring your friend into the bathroom with you. Unless you have a very small child and no one to watch them for you, bathroom time should be private time! Also, why is the right toilet locked to the grab bar? There are many unanswered questions in this image.

This looks like something straight out of a movie! Do these stairs lead to a secret door or are they really as benign as they seem? It appears as though these stairs lead to nothing, but maybe they were supposed to lead to a door and the project was abandoned before the construction workers could finish up. The first being the garage door on the third floor of this building! The craziest part is that garage door looks as if it’s been hit by a car. How in the world did that happen? Staircase Just for Ghosts

This staircase must have been installed just for the ghosts who like to roam this property. After all, ghosts are incorporeal and can move straight through this solid wall. This reminds us of the Winchester Mystery House with all it’s many staircases and doors that lead to nowhere, designed specifically to confuse the spirits wandering the property. The very thought gives this image an eerie feel!

There’s something hilarious about doors that lead to nowhere or are inaccessible. It just raises so many interesting questions. Who designed this doorway? What was the purpose behind this? Perhaps there’s a hidden room behind this door only accessible to witches and magicians that know how to levitate.
